Great Pyramid of Giza, Egypt

Sometimes I marvel at the way all these huge structures were built. Without technology and machinery to help them, people back then were simply ingenuous to have built something that lasted all this while.

The Great Pyramid of Giza is one such structure.

Many theories abound on how these magnificent pyramids were built.

excerpt from wiki (i love wiki btw):

Without the use of pulleys, wheels, or iron tools, they used critical path analysis to suggest the Great Pyramid was completed from start to finish in approximately 10 years.

Being one of the 7 ancient wonders of the world, it is the only one still standing, I think this alone is a fine reason to visit. Plus, i want to see the Great Sphinx too!

p1

It is a mythical creature with a lion’s body and a human head that stands on the Giza Plateau on the west bank of the Nile in Giza, Egypt.

The largest monolith statue in the world, it is also the oldest known monumental sculpture and is commonly believed to have been built by ancient Egyptians of the Old Kingdom during the reign of the Pharaoh Khafra.

Imagine if it comes alive!

Anyway, Egypt is a fantastic country to travel to. I hope that the political situation of the country has somewhat died down so that it is safe to visit.

I heard the river nile cruises are a bit touristy though.

Oh,  I want to ride a camel too! 🙂
